The passage of the Witcher has several options for the development of events. In addition to story quests, the player is offered many additional quests, as well as witchcraft orders and mini-games. Below is a guide on The Witcher 1 with the optimal order of the main character.

Prologue
In The Witcher, the walkthrough begins with the traditional plot twist and training of the main character. After the first roller, Geralt immediately enters the battlefield. First, you need to get a weapon that is hidden in the simulator doll, and then you need to learn all the rules of character control in the battle.

Important! The main difference between the game – a mouse click activates a whole series of blows at once. So do not nervously click your mouse when attacking, it will only interfere witch.

The next task of the hero – to break into the Upper Yard, open the gate and let the other witches. On the way to the gate you’ll need to destroy several enemies, learning new fighting styles. As this is a training mission, there shouldn’t be any difficulties here, but if you’re not attentive, the hero may be killed.

Next, Geralt is sent to the lab to retrieve special mutagens. First you have to drink the elixir “Thunder” (the I button opens the inventory, where you can select the available potions). Along the way you will have to deal with a group of dwarves, master the style of group combat and a very important habit in the future to search the corpses. In the future, this will allow you to find various trophies.

To unlock the magical barrier before entering the lab, Leo teaches Geralt the “Sign of Aard” spell. Using it (PCM) will help clear the side passage and return to the other witches. Next, there are 2 possible developments:

Destroy the Chimera. Not the best choice, as this will lead to the looting of the laboratory and the appearance of heavy monsters later in the story much earlier. But in battle the hero can get a red meteorite. If you find two more of these in the first chapter, the blacksmith will make a sword that does +40% damage.
Go with Triss and Leo to the Lab. To win this way, you need to drink the “swallow”, kill all the bandits, and then fight the mage Savolla himself. It is better to use the power style.
In any of the chosen layouts, the Professor kills Leo, which ends the first part of the Prologue. In the second part you need to search the Laboratory (upper floor), collect calcium Equum and White Seagull. The last ingredient is hidden in the corpse of Chimera, it is worth taking two eyes, one will come in handy later. Then you need to prepare an elixir for Triss from the collected components, go to Leo’s funeral or talk to other witches.

In the first chapter of The Witcher 1 the passage begins with a battle with wild dogs. After defeating them you need to find a man named Reverend, who will give the first task – to light the five chapels. Their location will be marked on the map.

Tips for the first chapter

After completing the task, the Reverend will send Geralt to the local witch Abigail, who will offer the next quest. The essence of the task – to bring five petals of needle myrtle to lift the curse from the boy Alvin. Will help in the search for the skill Herbalism. If you do not have it yet – you can buy petals from a local herbalist for 45 coins.

Tip: Having given the needle myrtle petals to the herbalist, you will have to wait a little while she prepares the elixir. But you can simply leave the house and then enter again.

While the herbalist prepares the elixir, you can complete a few more quests and mini-games. Do not make a big bet by playing dice while the hero is not yet sufficiently pumped. Before entering the tavern it is worth examining the bulletin board, find three new tasks and a flyer about the search for the Professor. The hero will receive the assignment only after moving the found leaflets into the inventory. For each assignment, the customers promise a reward of 100 Orens. The hero is to:

Collect 10 dog skulls for the herbalist Abigail.
Collect 3 brains of Utopians for the Reverend. Look for the drowned men on the south shore, on the north shore they constantly run away.
Collect 3 goole blood for the alchemist Kalkstein. It is important to complete the task before the hero begins to help the guard Mikula.
After curing the boy must return to the Reverend, who will give another task – to deal with Salamander. On the way to the inn the hero will save the waitress from the bandits. The key to Salamander’s lair is hidden in the innkeeper’s corpse. Then Geralt has to deal with all the bandits in the house.
